Champions League Project was Statathlon’s main fan engagement project for the 2018/19 Champions League. The project focused on the thorough analysis of the most important matches of the 2018/19 season. The analysis of the CLP, combined interesting statistical stats for each game as well as some advanced data science techniques for the final prediction of each game that was analyzed. The above-mentioned analysis published in real time interactive reports, where the reader had the option to explore the stats for each team in every game that was analyzed.

The data for the above-mentioned analysis of the CLP matches, derived solely on every team’s (that participated on the 2018/19 competition) in-game historical data, during the last three years in the European competitions (Champions League and Europa League). Furthermore, as for the analysis for the Round of 16, the Quarter-Finals, the Semi-Finals and the 2018/19 Final we also used the stats from the collected data of current Champions’ League Group Stage.
